What We Do
Global Ties Nebraska, formally known as the Lincoln Council for International Visitors (LCIV), is a non-profit organization in Lincoln, Nebraska dedicated to activities that foster relationships and cultural understanding with international leaders who visit Lincoln as a part of U.S. State Department-sponsored programs, notably the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Each visiting program revolves around a specific theme, and these visiting leaders are usually in Lincoln for only a few days. . Learn more and get involved.

We host and plan social activities for the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) participants, who are distinguished professionals and diplomats from different countries. LCIV coordinates people-to-people exchange programs with themes related to U.S. foreign policy topics, from international trade and immigration to journalism and civic engagement.

We are proud of the recognition we have received in the nearly 60 years we have welcomed international leaders to Lincoln. One visitor commented that Lincoln is one of the “brightest links” in the chain of community groups that care for international visitors across the U.S.
