He relocated to Lincoln in 2020 to join Civic Nebraska as the School Community Coordinator at Lincoln Northeast High School, before later advancing to serve as the Director of Youth Civic Leadership until the conclusion of the 2024 school year. Prior to his role at Civic Nebraska, Michael spent two impactful years with AmeriCorps as the Volunteer Engagement VISTA at College Possible, where he deepened his commitment to empowering young people and fostering community involvement. Also a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln has become his second home.

Michael’s approach centers on building relationships and fostering partnerships within communities. Under his guidance, Civic Nebraska’s Youth Civic Leadership programs expanded, offering enriching experiences and promoting civic engagement.

Since concluding his work at Civic Nebraska, Michael enjoys quality time with his wife, Amanda, whom he married on July 8th, 2023. Together, they indulge in Scrabble matches, bike rides, and traveling, alongside cherished moments with family and relaxing sessions of binge-watching TV in their movie room.

Beyond his personal interests, Michael remains passionate about community building, civic engagement, and youth development. He recently finished serving a three year term on the City of Lincoln’s One Book One Lincoln selection committee and is an avid reader in his free time.
